Cultivating Community

Every chance I get, I raise my hand—and my voice—to connect with community. I was thrilled to share my thoughts on "Designing for Delight" and "Bringing Play Into Our Days" at several events for Meta Reality Labs.
"Rebecca was our resident expert in designing for delight and a strong advocate for creating fun, playful experiences. She gave multiple lightning talks and presentations about these themes throughout our time together, each one incredibly inspiring, engaging, and even...fun!"

Based on my passion for play, I was featured in a southern California magazine as a Mattel copywriter.
"Working with Rebecca at Mattel was always enjoyable and interesting. Her passion for kids and designing what was best for them was infectious. As a team, we sought out the most relevant themes and applicable play patterns for preschoolers that not only focused on fun, but would be developmentally beneficial as well. Rebecca's attention to detail and drive to create the best possible products made working together so gratifying."

For the Global Children's Organization (GCO), I was proud to serve as a Board member and peace camp counselor in Croatia and in N. Ireland. My story was featured in the travel book "Europe from a Backpack."
"Rebecca's impact on GCO has been immense. Her kindness, compassion, and wisdom touches children, volunteers, and staff alike. Plus, her business sense and focus on effectiveness has made her an invaluable member of the board and allowed us to adapt our model for expansion."

I was honored to be invited to become a blogger on HuffPost. One of my favorite features was "7 Tips to Make Family Mealtime Fun."
1) Play with Your Food
2) Divide & Conquer
3) Foster "Picky" Eaters
4) Show Them What Healthy Looks Like
5) Freeze!
6) Get Smoothie With It
7) Eat Extraordinarily

Wanting to give back to my Seattle community, I connected with the Swing Shift. For their Catalyst program aimed at helping women in career transition, I presented ways to up-level marketing materials and use digital tips and tricks to be found, valued, and remembered.
"Rebecca was recently a guest speaker for one of the Swing Shift's professional development programs. She was engaging, thoughtful and really connected with the room. We would definitely recommend her as a speaker for other organizations and events."
